I wish to inform all the family members that we had a loss recently in our family; Pa Tumenta Shuyong left us on Friday 14^th of November 2008.                                                                                     

It happened on the same day the daughter Tumenta Marie Noël graduated.

She graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing and Midwifery, Buea as a nurse on the 14^th of Novembe 2008.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              May God bless our family.

MINUTES OF THE YENGWIA FAMILY MEETING HELD ON SUNDAY, NKUSI, THE 6^TH OF JANUARY, 2008 AT THE YENGWIA'S COMPOUND.DURING THE DEATH CELEBRATION OF LATE MAMA JUSTINE NKUNDE AND YENGWIA TUMENTA RAHEAL

The meeting started at 1:00PM with a prayer, calling on God to bless the activities of the Yengwia Family Meeting and that the meeting should run smoothly.

Tata Yengwia explained why the meeting was scheduled abruptly; he communicated  with the Yengwia family in Europe ,U.S.A and Asia to inform them about the meeting and other family matters. Despite the fact that the meeting was precipitated, the participation was good. He also advised members to be in solidarity, unity and love for one another for the development of the family.

PA Lambi Yengwia advised the members to avoid gossip, love each other, to be charitable, humble and work together for the growth of the family.

Pa Fua Nkah welcomes all family members present and again, dexterously emphasized on the importance of solidarity and unity, and talked against the notions of lies telling, gossip and other issues that will not lead to family development.

Pa Tumenta Shuyong also emphasized on the importance of unity and piece in the family. Mami Yabi said all the children are hers and are equal before her. She also advised that, family members should build houses in the compound or at home rather than at other places.

Mami Zuyi called on God almighty to bless the activities of the Yengwia family members and that the meeting should run smoothly.

Pa Tumeta Yengwia added that the ifung (Traditional Chair) was not well located and needed to be located in the right position.

Yengwia John Ndowe stole the show by proposing several important developmental projects as follows:

-         The health and wellbeing of the family members is a priority. Problems concerning health and well being of family members should be directed to him for assistance.

-         The traditional and meeting house will be renovated and an estimate for the renovation was made after the meeting.

-         We should forget and forgive each other

-         5,000FCFA was adcvanced for the production of the traditional chair (ifung).

Yengwia Anthony advised that we should be brothers and sisters, there should be trust among us. We should help each other keeping in mind that we have to work harder ,and we should hold meetings regularly.

            Kontaiteh advised all family members to sort out their differences

            Yengwia John Ngoh thanked those who were in church for the Thanks Giving Memorial Service of Late Mama Justine and Yengwia Raheal. He also made an observation that, the death celebrations were too abrupt and that time could have been given for proper preparations. He pointed out that Mama Magho lost her child and very few members came. However, he thanked Yengwia John Ndowe and others for bailing his son from jail.

            It was generally agreed that the Yengwia family meeting should hold once a year in December,as suggested by Yengwia Clovis and was conferm by the whole Family.

            Other matters

-         Further traditional rites will be performed on Tuesday (Ngei) in honour of Late Raheal

-         Simbo Yengwia advised that the property of Late Marie Mbinde should be distributed amongst the Yengwia's sons and daughters. The family menbers agreed on that idea.

-         Tata Yengwia is to construct a new house where Late Marie Mbinde’s house is.

-         Late Mama Justine Kunde’s property has been sent to her husband’s compound at Toh Finkwi .

-         A delegation was sent to trace the Yengwia boundary because neighbours were infiltrating into the Yengwia land. The pit toilette constructed in the compound by the people of the Teh compound should be destroyed.

As a symbol of piece, solidarity,unity,honesty and love, all the family members present ,drank water from the same calabash.

            The meeting ended with heavy feasting, characterized by drinking, eating of variety of dishes, dancing and discussions.
